Alessi”Stanza Dello Scirocco” Basket, Black Review

Alessi

  • Make sure this fits by entering your model number.
  • Designed by Mario Trimarchi in 2009
  • 18/10 stainless steel
  • La Stanza dello Scirocco is a range of items born out of the abstract and motionless atmosphere of a magic place: the room in large Sicilian country homes where one is forced to seek shelter from the sultriness while waiting for the sirocco to die down
  • Handwash recommended; Do not expose to wetness for prolonged periods
  • Design is inspired by the shadow created by cards blowing and scattering in the wind

“La Stanza dello Scirocco” basket in black. It is a room without windows in which you can do nothing but ponder the wind that is undoing all sublunary things outside. The upshot is a collection of geometrically irregular items made up of small splinters of various sizes, interlaced in an unstable balance. And so I came up with the idea that “La Stanza dello Scirocco” could be recounted through the story of drawings done by hand and through images of shadows, and that we could then ask everyone to exert themselves ever so slightly and make a small input with their own imaginations. • The cartoon men that “Girotondo” series have come to be know for, were created by the King-Kong team are a symbol and icon of mirror polished design based on the use of “affective codes”, so much so that they are one of its most oft-cited examples
  • Handwash recommended; Do not expose to wetness for prolonged periods
  • “Girotondo” basket with cartoon men created by the King-Kong team

Color:Black

“Girotondo” basket with figure cut outs in black. The “standing men” have appeared on objects from the farthest corners of Alessi tradition, like trays and baskets, and then they multiplied, invaded and conquered other groups of objects – and not just in the kitchen and at the table.
